Manda
Beeching lives with her partner Peter Dalby close to Sanlucar de Guadiana on a small finca overlooking the river. The exhibition in Casa Guabibi is the result of much time spent in the valley below their house making drawings and watercolour studies that have been translated into paintings in her studio. Upstairs on the mezzanine is a selection of paintings reflecting her travels in Spain and Morocco.
Peter’s furniture on show here is made principally from sustainable, locally grown timber and is designed utilising the material in it’s natural form.
The design is mainly A-frame construction, with nailed joints using silicon bronze gripfast nails. The resulting framework is light, flexible and very strong. It has a durable, hard wax-oil finish.
